‘Bojack Horseman’ Season 2 Gets Episode Dump Date From Netflix
“Bojack Horseman” and friends will re-commence horsing around (and old, fake sitcom “Horsin’ Around”) on July 17.
Netflix will dump all 12 Season 2 episodes one minute after midnight PT on that Friday — so clear your weekend plans. The animated comedy’s cast includes Will Arnett, Aaron Paul, Amy Sedaris, Alison Brie and Paul F. Tompkins.
Arnett voices BoJack, a legendary ’90s sitcom star, who has been trying to find his way through a muddle of self-loathing, whisky and failed relationships — Netflix’s (accurate) words, not ours. Now starring in his dream movie (a biopic of Secretariat), but humbled by the events of last season, BoJack attempts to use his career second wind as a stepladder to a springboard to becoming a newer, better BoJack. But new challenges on set and in his personal life, and the demons of his past make it difficult to shake off the skin of his previous self.
“If season 1 of BoJack Horseman is about a character learning he needs to change, the new season is about whether or not he can,” Netflix said on Thursday. “It’s a character in a rut, trying to pull out of that rut, and the rut pulling back.”
Plus, there will be a bunch surprise guest stars and funny talking animal jokes, the streaming giant promised.
“BoJack Horseman” was created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, who executive produces the cartoon alongside Steven A. Cohen and Noel Bright. Voice stars Arnett and Paul also serve as executive producers. BoJack was designed by graphic artist Lisa Hanawalt and animated by LA-based ShadowMachine. The show is a Tornante Production, brought to life by Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company.
“Bojack” was renewed in August; Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
