Bill and Hillary Clinton Spend Big in the Hamptons
Like a horde of other wealthy folk, Bill and Hillary Clinton dropped a small fortune on a high-priced rental in the Hamptons this month. The powerful politicos, who rented the past few years on East Hampton’s swish Lily Pond Lane, opted this year to drop about $100,000 for a three-week stay in sleepy (if swank) Amagansett. The shingled mansion, perched on a high bluff that overlooks Napeague Bay, is owned by a couple of New York City-based art collectors and — oddly enough — Republican party donors. There are seven bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, a water-view veranda, broad lawns, a waterside swimming pool and, so the scuttlebutt goes, big-time Democratic donor Harvey Weinstein lives close enough that the Clintons can send a Secret Service agent over to borrow a cup of sugar.
