B. Scott Suing BET, Viacom for $2.5 Million Over Transgender Discrimination, Wrongful Termination
Celebrity blogger B. Scott isn't OK with BET calling the fashion shots.
He's suing the network and parent company Viacom for discrimination, wrongful termination and emotional distress to the tune of $2.5 million. Oh, and he wants an apology.
"While I want nothing more than to put this incident behind me and move on with my life, I still wholeheartedly believe that I'm entitled to a true public apology," B. Scott wrote on his blog.

The incident in question occurred during the pre-show for the 2013 BET Awards in July where B. Scott was serving as the style correspondent.
B. Scott, who identifies as transgender, alleges the network made him change his outfit, because he was wearing women's clothing and high heels, which it deemed inappropriate. After changing into menswear, B. Scott said he was replaced anyway by another correspondent, Adrienne Bailon.
"I have been vehemently trying to come to a resolution with BET and Viacom behind the scenes," he said. "After a few weeks of back and forth dialogue with no foreseeable resolution, I have filed a lawsuit against BET and its parent company Viacom for discrimination on the basis of gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation."
