AwesomenessTV Expands Overseas With Endemol Shine Deal – Mipcom
AwesomenessTV, the growing multi-platform company co-owned by DreamWorks Animation and Hearst, has inked a strategic partnership with Endemol Shine Group to extend the former’s international reach. As part of the agreement, Endemol Shine’s premium channel network Endemol Beyond will launch local-language, owned-and-operated AwesomenessTV channels in international markets including the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Brazil, growing the existing AwesomenessTV roster of talent-led channels and incubate new talent and verticals across the network.
AwesomenessTV targets teens and millennials with its digital video formats and franchises such as docu-reality series Cheerleaders and interview-based strand IMO. New original content created under the agreement will include longform series and formats for both digital video and TV distribution. That will now get the reach of Endemol Beyond, has local hubs in the U.S., UK, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain as well as in Asia, Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. It generates more than 1.8 billion views per month across its lifestyle, comedy, reality and music-themed digital networks.
AwesomenessTV has grown beyond its YouTube roots and produces series for Nickelodeon and Netflix, is ramping up movie unit Awesomeness Films, and produces 180 hours of original content for Verizon.
