‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Movies Land ‘Captain America’ Writers

Marvel has tapped Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely to write “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” and “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2”

The duo has written the scripts for Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” and “Captain America: Civil War.” They will collaborate again with directors Joe and Anthony Russo for the two-parter.

Disney will release “Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1” on May 4, 2018, with the second part following on May 3, 2019.

“Chris and Steve have been an integral part of the Marvel family since the early days of Phase 1, and their work speaks for itself,” said producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more excited to have them with us to help guide the Avengers through their biggest story yet.”

Markus and McFeely also created “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” which premiered this year on ABC, and co-wrote Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World.” They also wrote the three “Chronicles of Narnia” films, “Pain & Gain,” “You Kill Me” and “The Life and Death of Peter Sellers.”

The duo is represented by UTA and attorney David Colden.

Movie site Birth.Movies.Death., formerly known as Badass Digest, first reported the talks in April.
