Ava DuVernay Claps Back After Quentin Tarantino’s Comments On ‘Selma’

Ava DuVernay puts Tarantino in his place in the most classiest way possible after his comments on the film 'Selma.'…

Ava DuVernay recently revealed her thoughts on Quentin Tarantino’s statements on her masterful movie, Selma. Tarantino raised a few eyebrows after a recent comment he made about the film, taking a slight jab at the motion picture by saying that it only deserved an Emmy in an interview with The New York Times Style Magazine after the civil rights drama received Oscar nominated honors.

Tarantino later admitted that he had never seen the film, which made his comment more mind-boggling. “I’m writing you to pass on that the quote from the NY Times piece about Selma is wrong. I never saw Selma,” he said. “If you look at the article, it was Bret who was talking about Selma, not me. I did say the line ‘it deserved a Emmy,’ but when I said it, it was more like a question.”

The mastermind behind the movie Selma had a little war of words as DuVernay decided to respond in a quick but classy fashion in reaction to Tarantino’s comments. “I was surprised by how surprised everyone was. When you look at his work and his persona, there’s nothing surprising about what he said,” she tells The Hollywood Reporter. “But it didn’t bother me like so many assumed it would.”
