Anna Kendrick Defends Men Who Like 'Pitch Perfect': 'I Didn't Think You Were a Pu--y'

Anna Kendrick thinks the Pitch Perfect films are for guys and girls alike!

While the first musical movie's audience was 74 percent women on opening weekend, the actress tells Glamour magazine that it's also a film for males to enjoy. "It's not like the humor excludes men," she says. "My favorite thing on Twitter is guys being like, 'Listen: I'm not a pu**y, but Pitch Perfect is awesome.' I'm like, 'I didn't think you were a pu**y, sir.'"

Going even further with gender biases, the Oscar nominee doesn't hold back on saying how she really feels about being a working woman in Hollywood. "All the films nominated [for a Best Picture Oscar] this year had male leads," she says. "Like, every single one. So I'm glad that [equality's] feeling like a bigger issue now."

Kendrick even shares a recent example of possible gender discrimination she's experienced, Kendrick continues, "There's [a film I'm considering] now where I have to wait for all the male roles to be cast before I can even become a part of the conversation," she reveals. "Part of me gets that. [But] part of me is like, 'What the f**k? You have to cast for females based on who's cast as males?'"

"To me, the only explanation is that there are so many f**king talented girls, and from a business standpoint it's easier to find women to match the men," she says. "I totally stand by the belief that there are 10 unbelievably talented women for every role."

As for aging in the entertainment business, the 29-year-old actress almost seems excited to get older. "I felt different at 29 because 29, to me, is 30. There are times when I still feel like an actual toddler in a grown-up -- well, semi grown-up -- body," she explains. "But other times I can't wait to actually be 30, just so I can say things like, 'I'm 30. I don't have time for that. F**k off!'"

Kendrick returns to the big screen in the highly anticipated Pitch Perfect 2 on Friday, May 15. Check out the sequel's trailer:
