Alec Baldwin Elected Co-Chairman of Hamptons International Film Festival

The Hamptons International Film Festival has elected Alec Baldwin and attorney Randy Mastro as co-chairmen, the festival announced Monday. The two will start their term after this year’s festival, which will run Oct. 8-12.

The two will replace festival founding member Stuart Match Suna, who steps down after 18 years as chairman.

Baldwin has served on the festival’s board for the past decade and has produced its SummerDocs series for seven years. “Stuart Match Suna has had a clear vision for HIFF ever since its inception, and I feel very privileged to have been part of such a passionate team,” Baldwin said in a statement. “I’m thrilled to continue with the festival as we look to lay the ground for many more exciting years ahead.”

Mastro, a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, has been a board member for nine years. “This is an important and innovative festival that brings outstanding programs and events year round to the Hamptons,” Mastro added. “I’m honored to be serving with Alec and expand what Stuart Match Suna has already successfully done with HIFF.”

Suna will continue to support the festival as chair emeritus. “Both Alec and Randy have been instrumental to the festival over the past decade, and I’m very pleased to see them taking on these positions,” he said.

HIFF’s final SummerDocs offering of the 2015 season is Brad Barber and Scott Christopherson’s “Peace Officer,” set to screen Aug. 28.
