It seemed like a match made in heaven - so Deadpool fans were shocked when director Tim Miller exited the sequel over creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds.
Now Reynolds has made his first public comment about the exit.
"All I can really add is that I'm sad to see him off the film. Tim's brilliant and nobody worked harder on Deadpool than he did," Reynolds told GQ.
Miller exited the sequel Oct. 22, and now John Wick filmmaker David Leitch is in talks to take over. Little is known about the Deadpool sequel, but the mutant Cable going to be featured, and Fox is already planning a third installment, with the mutant team X-Force set to appear.
Deadpool is the highest grossing X-Men film ever, earning a surprise $786 million worldwide when it opened in February 2016. Deadpool 2 is eyeing a 2018 release, with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returning to script it.
