‘In The Room’ Enjoys Festival Screening in Singapore
Singapore’s best known auteur director Eric Khoo took to the red carpet Tuesday night with international and local cast from his recent “In The Room,” an erotic drama.
The film, a special presentation at the Singapore International Film Festival, charts the goings on in a single hotel room over a period of several decades.
Khoo and producer Nansun Shi were joined by cast including Josie Ho, Choi Woo Shik, Lawrence Wong, Ian Tan, Netnaphad Pulsavad, Wasurat Unaprom, and Michelle Goh.
This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Eric Khoo’s first feature, “Mee Pok Man,” a restored version of which will be screened as part of the festival’s classics segment.
Due to censorship restrictions, it is currently unclear whether the film will get a release in Singapore — or if Khoo will agree to the cuts necessary for it to obtain a strict R21 rating.
