Bill Murray Plays a Ragged Rock Manager in First Trailer for 'Rock the Kasbah'
Open Road has released the first teaser trailer for comedy Rock the Kasbah, starring Bill Murray, four months before its Oct. 23 release.
In the film, directed by Barry Levinson from a Mitch Glaser script, Murray portrays a washed-up manager taking his last remaining client (Zooey Deschanel) on a USO tour of Afghanistan.
“You will play in front of 2,000 horny soldiers,” he promises over the strains of David Bowie’s Rebel Rebel.
She ditches him in Kabul, leaving him stranded with no money and no passport, but also opening up the opportunity for him to discover a young girl with an extraordinary voice.
Rock the Kasbah also stars Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Scott Caan, Bruce Willis and Leem Lubany.
