Pixar's 'Cars' and 'Planes' Get Faster and More Furious in Slick New Mashup
That insane car-parachuting sequence in Furious 7 has inspired a lot of awe. But if you’ll recall, director James Wan’s blockbuster isn’t the first movie to discharge speedsters from an aircraft. That distinction belongs to another sequel, Planes: Fire & Rescue, which unloaded talking cars out of a plane in 2014. (Both scenes may have been influenced by this actual skydiving car video that went viral in 2008).

Flying roadsters aren’t the only thing Furious 7 has in common with Disney/Pixar’s Planes and the series they spun off from, Cars. IGN has mashed footage from the animated hit flicks with the Furious 7 trailer audio, and it turns out the high-speed franchises are surprisingly in sync. Rev it up in the video above.
