Pierce Brosnan Peddles Crazy-Pants Super-Drug in Trailer for Thriller 'Urge' (Exclusive)

Former 007 Pierce Brosnan looks much more like a raving lunatic James Bond would foil than Her Majesty’s suave secret agent in the upcoming thriller Urge (watch the exclusive trailer above). Raving is a fitting description for his character in the film: simply known as The Man, he is a slick-haired, tinted-sunglasses-sporting club owner who deals a designer drug whose users lose the ability to control their urges.

Tempted by this super drug are a crew of young New Yorkers on vacation (including Justin Chatwin, Danny Masterson, Ashley Greene, and Alexis Knapp) in tropical paradise. They’re warned they can only take Urge once — but after a night of pure inhibition-shedding ecstacy, they want seconds.

They score a second round, and, suffice to say, they all lose their s–t. All except their friend Jason (Shameless’s Chatwin), who remains dead sober and is left to witness the horror and pick up the pieces (and probably some dead bodies, too.)

We’ve seen our share of getaways to paradise ruined over in recent cinematic history, but maybe none that have looked as outrageous as what transpires in Urge. And how can you not be curious to see what Brosnan does in a Master of Douchery role that looks like the love child of Nicolas Cage in Bad Lieutenant and Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?

Written by Jerry Stahl (Bad Boys II) and directed by Aaron Kaufman (making his debut behind the camera after producing Robert Rodriguez sequels Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For), Urge also stars Chris Geere and Bar Paly. The movie hits theaters and on-demand June 3.
