'Desperate Lives' In 1982, Oscar nominee (and former winner) Helen Hunt starred in what she later jokingly described during a "Saturday Night Live" monologue as "a hard hitting after school special about the dangers of angel dust." Pressured by her boyfriend, her character tries out the illegal substance. The next scene cuts to her jumping out of a high school class window, limbs flailing as she screams in front of horrified classmates. Sure, no one should ever do angle dust -- but the film's style is so simplistic and dated, that it's difficult to contain giggles when watching it today.
