Ravenous “Alien” (1979) fans will finally get their interplanetary swerve on when Ridley Scott’s long-awaited “Prometheus” touches down in theaters this weekend. The project initially started as a prequel to Scott’s genre defining masterpiece, but that direction got lost a little along the way, pretty much after Scott hired “Lost” scribe Damon Lindelof to help pen the film. The final product references the original, but stands alone in a uniquely beautiful and mind-boggling way that explores not just life in space, but also the origins of human life.
