The most famous — and valuable — people in Hollywood today are fictional characters. Today Vulture released its annual ranking of Hollywood’s Most Valuable Stars. Using a formula that weighs hard data like box office numbers and intangibles like likeability, the site determined an A-list pecking order that — inadvertently or not — reflects the monumental shift that continues to reshape the movie industry as actors become more and more subservient to the franchises they headline.

Sources tell Variety the the studio is in the early stages of bringing back Damon and Greengrass for an untitled “Jason Bourne” feature, marking the revival of one of Hollywood’s biggest action franchises. Over the years Greengrass and Damon and have stood there ground about not returning to the CIA property, based on the Robert Ludlum novels, after working together on “The Bourne Supremacy” and “The Bourne Ultimatum.” But sources now say both Greengrass and Damon are changing their tune and are in early talks to return to the franchise.
Without Robin Williams, Good Will Hunting may have never been made. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, two barely known actors from Boston, faced an epic struggle to get their screenplay greenlit in Hollywood.
