'American Sniper' is expected to take over 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1' as the highest grossing release of 2014.
If you thought Jennifer Lawrence was ruthless in American Hustle, wait until you see her in 'Serena.' This exclusive clip from Lawrence’s and Bradley Cooper’s long-shelved Depression-era drama features the frequent onscreen collaborators as newlyweds fresh off a shotgun wedding.

The saga of Serena continues! Magnolia Pictures has picked up U.S. rights to the long-delayed drama that stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, and is reportedly eyeing a release date in early 2015. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Magnolia became the “default distributor” of the movie — which was financed by a sister company — after several other studios rejected it. “The film was so edited, it made no sense,” one buyer told THR.
Marvel heroes tend to be flawed. Tony Stark was a thoughtless, carousing playboy. Even golden boy Steve Rogers dabbled in performance-enhancing drugs to become the super soldier Captain America. Still, none of those guys had rap sheets like the “Guardians of the Galaxy.” A preview for Marvel Studios’s next big-screen outing was unveiled Tuesday night during “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and the new footage emphasizes that this comic-book adaptation is very different from their earlier productions.
There were a lot of stellar casts last year, but you’d be hard-pressed to find one with such illustrious star-power as the ensemble in “American Hustle .” You certainly won’t find one with more Oscar noms. David O’Russell’s disco-age caper earned nominations in all four acting categories — Christian Bale for Best Actor, Amy Adams for Best Actress, Jennifer Lawrence for Best Supporting Actress, and Bradley Cooper for Best Supporting Actor. And to be honest with you, Jeremy Renner could have been the biggest snub on Oscar nomination day.
