We all screw up in our jobs. Meaning: They can show up on YouTube with the video title “Reporter Epicly Fails at Interviewing Kristen Wiig.” (And speaking of screwing up jobs, that correct spelling is: epically). The high-energy (or highly caffeinated) reporter Chris Parente from Denver’s CW affiliate KWGN scored a live-via-satellite interview with Skeleton Twins duo Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader — and muffed his research pretty badly. It’s a pretty icky question to begin with, but made worse by the fact that the nudity he’s referencing was in a different Wiig movie: her recent Toronto debut Welcome to Me. The Sundance hit Skeleton Twins did not play Toronto and, thus, was not “the talk of the festival,” as Parente describes it.
The Skeleton Twins is definitely not a Saturday Night Live movie. The dark tale does, however, reunite two of its most high-profile cast members to exit recently, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. Directed by Craig Johnson, Skeleton Twins debuted to raves at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
Who wouldn’t want Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader for siblings? Well, the thought of those wacky family dinnersmight be a little less tempting if, as in the case in their dark new comedyThe Skeleton Twins, the comic actors are a pair of suicidally depressed drifters, who keep their distance from one another by living on opposite coasts. Following a failed suicide attempt by Hader’s struggling-actor character, the twins reunite, resigned to try and mine their shared past to learn how their lives went so badly off track. In the clip above, presented exclusively on Yahoo Movies, Wiig and Hader bond over a flamboyant, over-the-top game of dress up and begin to laugh again.
