Paul Rudd Acts Out ‘Titanic’ Scene Nearly 2 Decades After Losing Part to Leonardo DiCaprio

Paul Rudd was on The Late Late Show and told James Corden and fellow guest Diane Lane about a part he wound up losing to Leonardo DiCaprio. “I auditioned for Titanic,” said Rudd. When Corden clarified that he had auditioned for the role of Jack, Lane quietly commented that she couldn’t imagine anybody other than DiCaprio in the film. “Neither could I,” Rudd joked. “Neither could the casting director.”

Rudd wanted the part because his dad was a member of the Titanic Historical Society, but alas. Since the Ant-Man star, much like Jack, had to let go, Corden afforded him the opportunity to have his big Titanic moment. With Lane filling in for Winslet as Rose, Rudd stretched his arms behind hers and bellowed out, “I can’t wait till we get to New York!” He then received some direction from Corden and gave the audience the more famous line “I’m king of the world!”
