“Life of Pi” was hands down the best movie of the year about a guy in a boat with a tiger. Ang Lee’s metaphysical 3D spectacular was great to look at but never reached the transcendent head trip that it aspired to. This flick wasn’t the last 20 minutes of “2001” no matter how gorgeous the imagery. Instead of this movie, it would have been great to see “The Master,” “Moonrise Kingdom” or “Skyfall” get the nod.
