One Direction, Ben Affleck Named To Barbara Walters' 'Most Fascinating' 2012 List

A British pop group, a saucy novelist, an Olympic gold medalist and an actor/director have been named to Barbara Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People of 2012" list.

On Monday, ABC released seven of the 10 list-makers including, British boy band One Direction, "Argo" director and actor Ben Affleck and Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Gabby Douglas.

Also making the list this year? New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and "Ted" creator (and 2013 Oscar host) Seth MacFarlane.

The person who made the Number 1 spot on the list will be announced on the show.

"Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012" will air as a 90-minute special on ABC on December 12 at 9:30 ET.
