No, John Boyega Won't Appear in Marvel's 'Black Panther'

Time to put the costume back in the closet, Internet.

Despite a persistent rumor, John Boyega will not be in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther.

The last 24 hours has seen speculation spread that the Star Wars star would be joining the Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, and Michael B. Jordan in the Marvel movie.

But Boyega’s reps tell THR that the actor is not and will not be part of the movie, which is building up a predominant black cast under the direction of Ryan Coogler, the director behind Creed, as it focuses on the very first black superhero in American comics.

Boyega’s agent in the U.K. took to Twitter to also deny the rumor, which began when Kevin Feige began following the actor on Twitter.
