'Prometheus 2' Will Be Called 'Alien: Paradise Lost’

Ridley Scott has spoken about how the Prometheus movie series is intended to link up with the original Alien mythology at some point in the future, but it appears that the title of the series will reflect the connection far earlier than expected.
During an interview to promote The Martian, Scott told the website Hey U Guys that the title of the second Prometheus movie will actually not contain the word Prometheus at all — although it will bear the prefix Alien. “Actually, really, it’s going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost,” the director said when asked about the sequel to the 2012 feature. “Prometheus 2 is not going to be, it’s now going to be Alien: Paradise Lost.”
Don’t expect to be able to find any clues about the sequel’s plot from its new title, however. “You know the poem?” Scott asks the interviewer, referencing John Milton’s 17th century work about the Biblical fall of man. “It sounds intellectual, but there’s a similarity to it, and that’s where it stops.”
In a later interview with the same outlet, Scott said that the new title came about “because we’re going to why and how and when the beast was invented. We’ll go back in to the back door of the very first Alien [movie] I did 30 years ago.”
