After conquering TV, Louis C.K. is tackling the film world's A-list of directors.
The multihyphenate, who recently starred in Woody Allen's upcoming comedy Blue Jasmine, is in talks to take on a key role in David O. Russell's next project, an untitled film formerly dubbed American Bullshit.
The period drama, which already stars Christian Bale, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams, begins production next month.
Penned by Eric Singer (The International), the film centers on con artist Mel Weinberg who worked with the FBI in a far-reaching corruption case that stretched from Atlantic City to Washington, D.C. The Louie actor will play an FBI agent.
Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Richard Suckle will produce alongside Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison and Ted Schipper. Jon Gordon, who most recently produced Silver Linings Playbook, will also serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Cooper and Singer. Annapurna is fully financing the film, tentatively set for release in late 2013. Columbia Pictures will handle U.S. distribution.
Louis C.K. who took home multiple Emmys in September for his TV work, is up for best performance by an actor in a TV series musical or comedy for Louie at this weekend's Golden Globes.
He is managed by 3 Arts.
