‘Looper’s Pierce Gagnon Joins ‘Wish I Was Here,’ ‘Solace’ Adds Janine Turner

Pierce Gagnon, who made a splash as a preternaturally gifted youngster in Rian Johnson’s Looper, has been cast in Zach Braff‘s Wish I Was Here. The 7-year-old thesp will play Tucker, the son of Braff’s character, in the Kickstarter-backed feature. He joins a cast that already includes Kate Hudson, Josh Gad, Anna Kendrick, Mandy Patinkin, Joey King, Jim Parsons, and Donald Faison. Gagnon’s been in demand since completing a run last year on The CW’s One Tree Hill; he’s lending his voice to Fox’s animated sequel Rio 2 and filmed ABC’s Big Thunder pilot before starring opposite Robin Williams and Joel McHale in Sycamore Pictures’ A Friggin’ Christmas Miracle. Gagnon is repped by Principato Young, CESD, Houghton Talent, and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush & Kaller, LLP.

Golden Globe-nominated Janine Turner has joined the cast of FlynnPictureCo., Eden Rock Media, and Silver Reel’s Solace, the supernatural thriller starring Anthony Hopkins as retired doctor and FBI psychic John Clancy, who’s tasked with helping hunt down a killer (Colin Farrell). Turner will play Elizabeth Clancy, wife of Hopkins’ character. Sharon Lawrence, Abbie Cornish, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan also star in the pic written by Sean Bailey, Ted Griffin, James Vanderbilt, and Peter Morgan. Afonso Poyart (Two Rabbits) is directing. Turner is repped by Glick Agency.
