Lego’s New Marvel Toy Costs More Than an Xbox One

Lego is asking Marvel fans to dig pretty deep into their pockets for its next playset.

The company, which has scored with a number of licenses based on movies, especially “Star Wars,” will start offering a version of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier, seen in “The Avengers” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” movies, in March. The pricetag: $349.99.

That’s around $1 more than Microsoft is selling its Xbox One videogame console. And it’s hardly the most expensive Lego playset, with a version of “Star Wars'” Death Star selling for $400 on Lego’s website (it’s out of stock until Feb. 22).

The 31-inch long helicarrier, broken up into 2,996 pieces, includes two runways, three Quinjets and three fighter jets, as well as minifigure versions of Nick Fury, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow and Maria Hill, who is new to the Lego universe in 2015, with a S.H.I.E.L.D. eagle stand to display them on.

A plaque with facts about the helicarrier is included, while functional lights can also be added.

Lego will sell the helicarrier on its website and in its stores.
