David Bowie won four posthumous awards at the 59th annual Grammys, the Recording Academy revealed Sunday afternoon during the preshow.
The late icon was honored for best rock performance, alternative music album, recording package and engineered album (non-classical) for his 25th and final studio album Blackstar. He also is up for best rock song, which will be announced during the televised ceremony on Sunday night.
Blackstar was released Jan. 8, 2016, to coincide with Bowie's 69th birthday. The music great shook the industry when he died of liver cancer just two days following the album's release.
James Corden is hosting the Grammy Awards, which are set to take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
