"Glee" star Harry Shum Jr. has closed a deal to star in "Moms' Night Out," a family comedy that Sony's Affirm Films banner is producing, TheWrap has learned.
"Mom's Night Out" follows three housewives who get bored with their suburban life and break away for a night in the city.
Patricia Heaton and Sean Astin also star in the film, which Andrew and Jon Erwin are directing from a script they wrote with Andrea Gyertson Nasfell. Kevin Downes is producing.
Shum will soon be seen in Andrew Lau's "Revenge of the Green Dragons," which is being executive produced by Martin Scorsese. Shum plays Paul Wong, a smooth operator who rises to power as the trusted protege of a notorious human trafficker named Snake Head Mama. Ray Liotta and Justin Chon ("21 & Over") also star in the film, which is named after one of several notorious Chinese gangs in 1980s Queens.
Shum, who plays Mike Chang on "Glee," is an accomplished dancer who has appeared in "You Got Served," "Stomp the Yard" and two of the "Step Up" movies.
He's repped by Innovative Artists and Triniti Management.
