Dallas Buyers Club stars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto caught Oscar viewers' attention with stirring acceptance speeches. But it seems many viewers weren't quite sure what their film was actually about.
"What is Dallas Buyers Club about?" was the fourth most-searched Oscar-related question during the show. In a way, it makes sense. The $5 million budgeted HIV drama has taken $25.4 million at the domestic box office, compared the larger hauls of fellow Oscar darlings Gravity ($270.6 million) and 12 Years a Slave's ($50.4 million.)
McConaughey was also the subject of the No. 1 Oscar-related question: "Who presented with Matthew McConaughey?" The actor shared duties presenting best animated feature with Vertigo star Kim Novak, who apparently many viewers did not recognize. The actress' appearance -- altered by plastic surgeries -- became a hot topic of conversation on Twitter.
Oscar viewers certainly did recognize another screen legend – Sidney Poitier, and it got them wondering about his age. "How old is Sidney Poitier?" was the No. 2 Oscar-related search at the show's end. The answer? 87. For viewers who didn't catch on to Poitier's advanced age, the Academy gave them a hint during the ceremony when it recognized the 50th anniversary of his historic best actor win for "Lilies of the Field."
The most Google Oscar dresses don't contain many surprises – except for one. Newly minted Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o topped the list, which also featured Jennifer Lawrence (No. 2) and Amy Adams (No. 3). The surprise? E! personality Giuliana Rancic, whose gown (No. 4) was more searched than Cate Blanchett's (No. 5).
