Brendan Gleeson and Sam Keeley have boarded the Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow action pic “In the Heart of the Sea” starring Chris Hemsworth.
Pic also stars Ben Walker, with Ron Howard helming.
Based on the Nathaniel Philbrick novel, the story follows a whaling ship that is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miles from home.
Gleeson plays an older version of one of the surviving crew members who is interviewed years later by Herman Melville about his experience aboard the ship. Keeley plays one of the crew members.
Brian Grazer, Joe Roth, Paula Weinstein and William Ward are producing, with Roth Films President Palak Pattel exec producing. Jesse Ehrman is overseeing for the studio.
Gleeson, who is repped by The Agency and Principal Entertainment LA, can be seen next in Sony’s “Smurfs 2.” The Resolution and 42-repped Keeley can be seen next in the sequel to the Gareth Edwards pic “Monsters.”
