As ABC Family readies the debut of new drama The Fosters, a preview of the first episode has hit the web.
Co-created by Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige and executive produced by Jennifer Lopez, The Fosters centers on two moms (Teri Polo and Sherri Saum) as they raise a multi-ethnic family with foster and biological kids.
In a scene from the one-hour drama, adopted foster kids Jesus (Jake T. Austin) confronts his sister Marianna (Cierra Ramirez) about his disappearing pills. "What are you looking at me for?" Marianna asks defensively, clearly hiding something.
Jesus reads between the lines, bringing up the big wads of cash she's suddenly in possession of. Surely those pills had something to do with it. Marianna's silence confirms his suspicions and Jesus' disappointment is apparent. When she explains her selling off his pills at school was so she could meet her biological mother, who she's been in contact with, things get dicey.
Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell and Danny Nucci co-star in The Fosters.
The Fosters premieres at 9 p.m. June 3 on ABC Family.
