New Trailer: French Rom-Com 'Samba' Pairs Omar Sy With Charlotte Gainsbourg

The French directing duo behind the acclaimed 2011 dramatic comedy The Intouchables are teaming up again with that film’s star, Omar Sy, in the new Samba.

Olivier Nakache and Eric Toledano helm this romantic comedy, which chronicles the trials and errors of Senegalese immigrant Samba (see the exclusive trailer above). Samba (Sy, who also stars in Jurassic World) is a kitchen worker, vigilant of France officials who could easily boot him back to his homeland.

He visits a community advocacy center in hopes of becoming legal. Alice (Charlotte Gainsbourg), who runs the pro-immigrant group, takes a special interest in her determined volunteer, and soon her feelings for him grow.

Samba, in French with English subtitles, opens in New York and Los Angeles July 24.
