New Trailer for Disney's 'Zootopia' Is Sloth-sationally Funny

Disney’s history is chock-full of talking animals, but the Mouse House has never had a batch of anthropomorphized critters quite like the one in the studio’s upcoming film Zootopia.

A new trailer for the animated feature from directors Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph) and Byron Howard (Tangled) hit the internet on Monday, giving us another glimpse at the movie’s alternative animal kingdom. The film stars Jason Bateman as a wise-ass fox named who gets framed for a crime he didn’t commit, and Ginnifer Goodwin as a conscientious rabbit police officer hot on his tail. The hard-charging bunny doesn’t much like Nick, but circumstances eventually force her to reluctantly team up with the silver-tongued fox.

This latest look at the movie, though, focuses on sloths — those slow-moving critters who, in the world of Zootopia, run the DMV. It’s a perfect task for the critters, since getting anything done at that government agency is the most painstaking experiences a human can suffer.

Not that this is all fantasy; as Moore and Howard told Yahoo Movies at D23 in August, the filmmakers traveled to Africa to study how the animals lived and moved in their natural habitats. So even if real sloths don’t actually check license plate numbers and renew licenses, the Zootopia sloths will at least perform those mind-numbing tasks with authentic movements.

Zootopia hits theaters in March 2016.
