New 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2' Teaser Shows the Power of Sisterly Love
As the Hunger Games saga comes to a close, a new teaser reminds us where it all began: with one brave girl’s sacrifice for her little sister. The trailer, called “For Prim,” revisits the relationship between Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and her younger sister Primrose (Willow Shields) over the course of the last three movies, leading up to this fall’s big finale, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2. When we left Katniss in Mockingjay — Part 1, she had become “The Mockingjay,” the face of the people’s rebellion against the fascist President Snow and his allies in The Capitol. As the trailer demonstrates, the fight has never been purely political for Katniss; from the iconic moment that she volunteered to participate in the sadistic Hunger Games, she has been doing everything in her power to protect Prim. Will President Snow use Katniss’ love and devotion against her? As the corrupt leader tells her, “It is the things we love most that destroy us.” And now that The Capitol has brainwashed her friend and fellow Hunger Games survivor Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), it’s no longer just about Prim.
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2 (in theaters November 20) promises to be an epic showdown between Katniss and President Snow, as the rebels undergo his sadistic obstacle course in a fight for control of The Capitol. Watch the full trailer below:
