'Minecraft' Movie Gets Release Date in Summer 2019

Minecraft is one step closer to the big screen.

The adaptation of the massively popular, world building video game is set for a May 25, 2019, theatrical release via Warner Bros.

Although it’s a little under three years away, May 2019 already is set to have several large studio releases, including part two of Marvel’s Infinity Wars and Disney’s Star Wars: Episode IX.

The Minecraft movie is currently under construction, with It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia star Rob McElhenney attached to direct.
