Mel Gibson and Antonio Banderas Confirmed for 'Expendables 3'

Mel Gibson who was previously "rumored" as considered for "Expendables 3" is now confirmed for the film, a Sylvester Stallone rep told TheWrap.

Gibson will play Stallone's adversary.

Stallone and Banderas worked well together in "Assassins," the rep said. Stallone added, "Antonio is a consummate actor and a gentleman."

Previously, Stallone had taken to twitter to air grievances with previous cast member Bruce Willis, calling him "greedy and lazy." Harrison Ford was announced as being in for number three, though his role remains unknown.

While Stallone tweeted that Willis is out of the third one, on Friday, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer implied to analysts that it may be too early to be certain.
