'Masterminds' Poster: Zach Galifianakis and Kristen Wiig Are Atop a Cash Heap

In case you can’t quite tell from this exclusive poster for the upcoming comedy Masterminds, Kristen Wiig, Zach Galifianakis, Owen Wilson, and Jason Sudeikis are deep in the 1990s. They’re also in deep with a pile of stolen cash.

Directed by Jared Hess (Napolean Dynamite), Masterminds is based on the 1997 Loomis Fargo Robbery in North Carolina aka the Hillbilly Heist — at the time the second-largest cash theft on U.S. soil.

Mark your calendars! Yahoo Movies is debuting the first full trailer for Masterminds tomorrow along with an exclusive interview with Wiig — who spoke to us right after she saw the movie for the very first time. She plays real-life robber Kelly Campbell. And as she tells it, the movie takes a whole lot of wacky liberties with the real story while staying true to its core details.

Masterminds, which also features SNL stars (and Wiig’s Ghostbusters running mates) Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, lands in theaters Aug. 19.
