Married creator Andrew Gurland is going back to the altar for a new marriage comedy project, which has been set up at NBC.

Created and written by Gurland, the untitled  relationship comedy focuses on a happily married man whose level-headed wife helps him manage some of the more complicated female relationships in his life.

“I grew up around a lot of larger-than-life female personalities and continue to be drawn towards those types of women,” Gurland said. “Over the years, my wife, who is more of a ‘normal,’ has been sucked into that roller coaster and helped me navigate those dynamics.”

Like Married, the new comedy hails from Principato-Young Entertainment, whose partners Peter Principato and Paul Young executive produce alongside Gurland. Universal TV is the studio.

This is Gurland’s second sale this development season. He also is writing and executive producing a pro-wrestling comedy inspired by the experiences of Dwayne Johnson, who also executive produces with Johnson, Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. The project has a put pilot commitment at Fox.

Married, which starred Judy Greer and Nat Faxon, ran for two seasons on FX. Gurland is repped by WME, PYE and attorney Rick Genow.
