Life-Sized ‘Star Wars’ X-Wing Fighter Docks at Singapore’s Airport
If you find yourself on an extended layover in Singapore’s Changi Airport in the coming weeks, then you’ll have a chance to get up close and personal with some serious Star Wars hardware. Last week, a life-sized X-Wing fighter and TIE fighter were parked in Terminals 3 and 2, respectively, and were accompanied by squads of Rebel pilots and Stormtroopers in costume. The starfighters will remain there through Jan. 5 according to Toggle and The Strait Times. Even better: Every day, 80 tickets will be handed out on a first come, first served basis for fans who’ve always fantasized about their own Death Star trench run to actually sit inside the cockpit of the X-Wing.

Also making a cameo at Changi last week: The Star Wars-themed Nippon Airways airplane that’s been painted to look like R2-D2.
This galactic air show is, of course, all in preparation for the release of the new installment in the Star Wars saga, The Force Awakens on Dec. 18.
