Leonardo DiCaprio Wins Oscar, the World Rejoices

It finally happened. The moment everyone was waiting for: Leonardo DiCaprio won an Oscar. It only took six nominations and countless memes until the incredible actor was recognized for his talent, hard work, and dedication. Leo’s love/hate relationship with the Academy has been an Internet craze over the past few years, but tonight we celebrate his success.

Leo’s big film debut was in 1993 in the well-known indie film What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. He took on the role of developmentally disabled teen Arnie Grape, which would become one of his most iconic acting performances to date. Leo’s career would only improve from then on. Fans loved his onscreen chemistry with powerhouse Kate Winslet in Titanic and Revolutionary Road. They adored his ruthless performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, and they raved about him in Blood Diamond. No matter what role he took on, the Los Angeles native consistently delivered a solid performance.

So tonight when Leo received his well-deserved standing ovation from his peers and gave viewers watching a heartfelt speech, the passionate environmentalist found a moment to educate anyone watching on the dangers of climate change. Talented, handsome, and environmentally aware. Yeah, he’s the total package.
