'Lego Movie' Sequel Lands 'Community' Director
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who directed the first movie, are now producing the movie with Dan Lin and Roy Lee.

Everything is awesome for Rob Schrab, the TV director who has just signed on direct the sequel to The Lego Movie for Warner Bros.
Dan Lin and Roy Lee are returning as producers and are joined by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller,the duo who directed the first movie, which grossed $468.7 million and won widespread acclaim.
Lord and Miller are also writing the script, so the daft but heartfelt sensibility should still be felt. The script will be based on a story by Lord, Miller, Jared Sternand Michelle Morgan.
Plot details at this stage are being kept hidden deep in the heart of Bricksburg.
Schrab, repped by UTA, Mosaic and Sloane Offer, hails from the TV comedy world where he directed episodes of shows such as Community, The Mindy Project, and Childrens Hospital, among others. He was nominated for a WGA Award for his work on The Sarah Silverman Show and won an Emmy for his work as part of the team that wrote the Hugh Jackman opening musical number for the 2009 Academy Awards.
Among his previous movie work was co-writing the 2006 animated film Monster House, which garnered him an Annie Award nomination.
Warners has quickly constructed a brick empire since the success of Lego Movie. Lego movie Ninjago is due for a Sept. 23, 2016 release while a Lego Batman movie is scheduled for a May 2017 opening. The Lego Movie sequel is eyeing a release for sometime in 2018.
