Larry Flynt Named Keynote Speaker for PromaxBDA Conference (Exclusive)

Larry Flynt has been tapped as the keynote speaker for the 2013 PromaxBDA conference, taking place June 18-20 in Los Angeles, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Hustler Magazine v. Falwell 1988 Supreme Court case. Flynt will discuss his work surrounding First Amendment issues, the increasing importance of protecting free speech in a social media world and what television markets can do to grow the value of their in an increasingly fragmented media landscape.

"By definition, innovators stir controversy, and Mr. Flynt has been doing exactly that for close to four decades," said Jonathan Block-Verk, president and CEO of PromaxBDA International. "He has been a staunch defender of First Amendment rights and the leader of one of the biggest multiplatform media empires in the world, and we look forward to hearing his insights."

Brian Grazer will receive PromaxBDA's lifetime achievement award, and will participate in a conversation with Piers Morgan.

PromaxBDA, the association for marketing, promotion and design professionals working in the entertainment industry, holds its conference annually to explore the areas of marketing, promotion and design. Panels are designed for executives to share ideas, learn new techniques, develop tools and get insight on the latest technologies.
