Kylo Ren Speaks! Hear the Action Figure's Villainous Lines From 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

Kylo Ren, the villain of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, hasn’t spoken a word in either of the movie’s teaser trailers — but thanks to the talking action figure released on Force Friday, we can finally hear the new voice of the Dark Side. Yahoo Movies’ Jordan Zakarin braved the midnight crowds to check out the new toy, which delivers nine of actor Adam Driver’s lines from The Force Awakens (including such ominous declarations as, “I’m immune to the light). Take a listen in the Vines below!

Here’s a complete list of what the new Kylo Ren action figure says:

“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time.”

“Is it true? You’re just a scavenger?”

“Don’t be afraid.”

"I feel it too.”

"You know what I’ve come for.”

"Don’t fight it… you know you can’t.”

"I’m immune to the light.”

"Together, we will destroy the resistance and the last Jedi.”

All of these quotes are lines of dialogue from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and while none of them give away obvious spoilers, it’s hard not to look for plot hints. That last line seems to indicate that he’s trying to recruit one of our heroes — Finn (John Boyega) or Rey (Daisy Ridley) perhaps? — to the Dark Side. As for “that weapon is mine,” he’s most likely talking about Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber, which was passed along to Luke by Obi-Wan Kenobi and later lost in his duel with Darth Vader; a lookalike weapon was wielded by Finn in a recent Instagram tease from the film. Sounds like Kylo Ren believes that he is the rightful heir of the lightsaber — perhaps because he is carrying on Darth Vader’s legacy? (The character was described in Entertainment Weekly’s Force Awakens cover story as a “Vader obsessive.”)

Also, a few of Kylo Ren’s lines appear to be callbacks to the original trilogy. “I’ve been waiting for this for a long time” is very similar to the dialogue Darth Vader says to Obi-Wan before their Star Wars lightsaber battle. “Together, we will destroy the resistance” is much like Vader’s plea to Luke in The Empire Strikes Back: “Join me, and together, we can rule the galaxy as father and son.” And “I feel it too” is reminiscent of many references to The Force: Vader telling Luke “search your feelings, you know it to be true” after revealing that he’s his father; Luke telling Vader “I feel the good in you;” and Leia assuring Han Solo that Luke wasn’t killed in the Death Star explosion (“He wasn’t. I can feel it.”) in Return of the Jedi.

A talking Finn action figure also reveals some choice dialogue from the film (“Listen, I’ve had a pretty messed-up day”); listen in the IGN video below.

Other talking toys unveiled for Force Friday include Captain Phasma, played by Gwendoline Christie (listen here and below) and a beeping BB-8 (listen here).
