The new trailer for Kubo promises a very different style and story from the cartoonish, sentimental plots that filled the year’s Disney and Pixar animated films. The stunning animation, eclectic plot, and dark tone are characteristic of Laika features, which include favorites like Coraline, Paranorman, and The Boxtrolls.
