Kim Basinger Signs with IMG Models

Oscar winner Kim Basinger has signed a deal with IMG Models for the company to exclusively handle management of her commercial business endorsement opportunities.

The deal comes at a public time for both involved, as Basinger appears in the upcoming Sylvester Stallone-Robert De Niro boxing movie “Grudge Match” and IMG Models’ parent company IMG is finalizing its sale.

The perception of who is an acceptable spokesperson is changing; Basinger, who is 60, can help challenge the stigma that only youth works for sponsorships. Recent months have seen partnerships like Jerry Seinfeld, 59, for Acura, Michael Bolton, 60, for Honda, and Helen Mirren, 68, for British retailer Marks and Spencer.

“We are proud to be working with a distinguished and talented actress such as Kim Basinger,” said Ivan Bart, senior VP and managing director of IMG Models. “Kim has a powerful appeal on screen that will lend itself as a strong asset for us to seek innovative partnerships across the modeling and entertainment platform for Kim.”
