Kevin Pollak, Daryl Sabara Join Dating Movie ‘The Lost Year’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Kevin Pollak, Daryl Sabara and Grace Phipps are in negotiations to join the cast of Ryan O’Leary’s upcoming movie “The Lost Year,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The film will be produced by Anthony Pedone’s Film Exchange. Chris Bellant (“Loserville”) and Amy Bruckner (“Phil of the Future”) are also in the cast.

O’Leary is directing from his own script. Producers plan to go into production early next year.

Sabara will play a young man who, after a rough breakup, dives headfirst into the world of online dating, guided by his charismatic best friend (played by Bellant). He meets a charmingly complicated woman, portrayed by Phipps, and is forced to confront the challenges of maintaining a relationship in the digital age.

Pollak made his narrative directorial debut on the indie comedy “The Late Bloomer,” based on Ken Baker’s 2001 memoir “Man Made: A Memoir of My Body.” He starred in Netflix’s “Special Correspondents” with Ricky Gervais and Eric Bana, and with Jonah Hill and Miles Teller in Warner Bros.’ “War Dogs.”

Sabara is best known for appearing the “Spy Kids” franchise and as Edgar Rice Burroughs in “John Carter.” Phipps’ credits include “Teen Beach Movie” and season 4 of “The Vampire Diaries.”
