Although we here at Yahoo Movies have dubbed 2013 the year of the McConaughssance — with Matthew McConaughey reaching new heights of acclaim — we have also witnessed the beginnings of a Kevin Costnerassance. We’ve seen his Emmy-winning role on TV’s “Hatfields & McCoys,” followed by his big-screen return in “Man of Steel,” and in 2014 we’re going to get at least three Costner movies.

Today we are proud to present a first look of one of them via our trailer premiere of “Draft Day.” The story revolves around Cleveland Browns General Manager Sonny Weaver (Costner) as he prepares for the politics, anxiety, and other high-pressure obstacles surrounding the annual selection of new professional football players into the NFL.

The movie is special for two major reasons. First, it’s Costner’s return to a genre where audiences love to see him: sports movies. Who can forget his iconic contributions to the genre with “Bull Durham,” “Field of Dreams,” and “Tin Cup?” With “Draft Day” Costner is making his first foray into the world of football and as a rogue GM on a mission to make a difference, we can’t wait to see him work it here.

Second, this is the first officially authentic football movie, meaning that for first time ever the National Football League cooperated with the production and allowed the cast and crew unprecedented access during and around the actual 2013 NFL draft. Football fans should keep an eye out for some of your favorite players and on-air football fixtures, including Chris Berman and Deion Sanders, two of many who are featured in the film.

One other bonus feature is the film’s A-list cast. Alongside Costner are Denis Leary, Jennifer Garner, Terry Crews, Tom Welling (“Smallville”), Oscar nominee Frank Langella, and Oscar winner Ellen Burstyn, all under the direction of comedy legend Ivan Reitman.

Draft Day" opens in theaters April 11.
