Katniss and Finnick Join the 'Star Squad' in First New Clip From 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2'

The first clip from Mockingjay — Part 2 is mostly talk instead of action, but it sets up some key moments from the grand finale of the series, which hits theaters on Nov. 20. In the new scene, which you can watch above, we see Boggs (Mahershala Ali) assembling his troop of rebels — the so-called “star squad” who’ll be filmed for posterity’s sake by Cressida and her crew as they follow the actual combat troops from the rear during the assault on the Capitol. (We also catch a glimpse of Michelle Forbes as Bogg’s second-in-command, Lt. Jackson, who’s a key player in the battle.) Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Gale (Liam Hemsworth) — who are definitely not happy with their seemingly cush assignment — are joined by Finnick (Sam Claflin), who’s fresh off his marriage to Annie and making a wry joke about his grim honeymoon location (fans of the books will likely wince at his dark humor for reasons we won’t spoil here). Boggs reminds his team that there will be an array of booby traps awaiting them, but it’s nothing our former tributes haven’t seen before. As Finnick deadpans: “Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the 76th Hunger Games.”
