As someone who has starred in her fair share of romantic comedies, Kate Hudson has had to pucker up to her fair share of hunky leading men, from Matthew McConaughey to Jon Hamm. So who among them ranks as her favorite onscreen kiss? The honor goes to…the late Heath Ledger, pictured above with the actress in 2002.

The 35-year-old actress, who’s currently co-starring with Zach Braff in Wish I Was Here, revealed her secret during a sit-down with Andy Cohen on Bravo’s Watch What Happens: Live on Wednesday. A caller asked the revealing question listing one condition: Braff, who was with Hudson for the interview and plays her husband in the new movie, had to be excluded.

Hudson immediately replied with a smile, “I would say my favorite one was Heath,” referring to her The Four Feathers co-star who died in 2008. “I would say that was pretty excellent.” The two starred together in the 2002 period drama set in the late 1800s, with Ledger playing a British officer engaged to marry Hudson’s Ethne.

You can actually see them kiss (more than once!) in the trailer:

What elevated it to “excellent” status? “He was just so beautiful and sweet and gentle,” replied Hudson. “I would say that, I look back…and that was really…he was lovely.” She then called it an “amazing” memory.
