Julianne Moore Gearing Up to Star in Nicole Holofcener's 'Can You Ever Forgive Me'
Julianne Moore is in negotiations to star in Nicole Holofcener’s Can You Ever Forgive Me for Fox Searchlight.
Holofcener is also writing the pic which based on the 2008 memoir by Lee Israel.
Israel was a respected biographer who fell on hard times and turned to counterfeiting the letters of deceased writers and celebrities in order to pay her rent. When the forgeries started to raise suspicion, she turned to stealing the actual letters from library archives and sold them through an ex-con she met in a bar while the FBI was closing in on the scam.

Holofcener’s last film was the well-received romantic comedy Enough Said, starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the late James Gandolfini.
This will be Moore’s first pic since her Oscar win for Still Alice. This year, she will appear in Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and drama Freeheld with Ellen Page and Steve Carell.
